Books for Chemistry

Here is an exhaustive list of Chemistry text books suggested for competitive exams.
The books which have been tagged as "Recommended" were used by me in some or the other way.
Note that I used a lot of books myself (I had a library of books at my home). However, you are not expected to buy them all. Use your own discretion here.
Also note that the books in the below link have been verified by me. At times I see people getting confused on which version to buy. The below versions are the ones that I myself used and are indeed worth a try.

    1. Hello Partha, I understand that the book is expensive, but I really recommend it to the aspirants because I myself gave this book 4 complete readings during my JEE days.
There is no specific time to buy this book.
Buy it as soon as you start with organic chemistry

  5. Hey Aman could you suggest a source for practical organic chemistry? Most books including LG Wade, Peter Sykes, solomons, etc. don't have it as a separate chapter. Also in the fiitjee package of POC things are not given in detail though atleast all of it is in one place. Also write about how you managed this particular part of organic.

  8. Can thorough study of ncert(chemistry)+exemplar fetch me good marks in JEE MAINS say 80-90 marks i.e. is ncert (chemistry) with exemplar enough for mains?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just as *good marks* has a different definition for different people (for instance, you consider 80-90 marks as good, for someone else, they might not be good), so is the case with *thorough study* :)

You mentioned that LG Wade for Organic is highly recommended.

But next to it in comments you said FIITJEE Packages are enough for Organic.

So shall I go for LG Wade or not Bhaiya ?

    1. No, don't get confused.
Read the context carefully and then come to a conclusion before getting confused.

"Aman said that Abhishek is a good boy" is way different from "Rahul said that *Aman said that Abhishek is a good boy*"

Don't just read the sentence. It is important to understand the context as well

    2. Okay. But I still didnt got to any conclusion. Now I have my Organic Chemistry theoretical portion done and practiced good from my packages and Archives but my teacher in FIITJEE says that I need more practice. So which book should I refer for solving problems of Organic Chemistry?
